HRM AMBASSADORS
some of whom have walked the very same path as you

Aaron Lukoni ~ Victoria, BC

There’s just something about spring that makes everything awesome – the fresh air, the first flowers, the warmer breeze through the budding trees…and I want to warmly welcome you to the Spring Journey! Whether this is your 1st or 100th journey, I can’t wait to share the adventure alongside you and I promise that this 12 weeks of community, commitment, and consistency will change your life.
It is a known fact that everyone has too many things on the go - we all have multiple balls we juggle every day. Work, life, kids activities, spouses, friends, ummm pandemic?!?!?! And now it’s time for you to really set your sights on YOURSELF and focus those intentions to a place where all that strength comes from - and that's within each of us. Be so proud because you’ve already taken the biggest step forward by being a part of this journey. YOU are taking this time to be your authentic self, and I’m so very honoured you are here.
My backstory…and what you all really want to know…is that really how I spell my name??? The easiest answer is that my *loving* parents wanted a first born son really, really badly. They didn’t get it (obviously) but refused to change the name that they had decided on so here I am, rocking the Ay-Ay-RON and making that name stand tall and proud. I OWN my strong and if you don’t feel it now, you are going to feel it by the end of this journey I promise you!
This will be my 11th journey with HRM and my third as an ambassador (cue applause and high fiving virtually! They like me…they really really like me!!!!) and hello to those ladies that make up our South Island Crew!! Truthfully, Ambassador or not, I could never be without this community. I’m a mother of three amazing daughters, work full time, just finished my second masters degree and a fellowship, and balance a heavy activity and volunteer schedule. Realistically I never thought that I could find the balance I needed to be the best role model for my daughters AND make myself a priority while mirroring a healthy lifestyle. I know that I need to emulate health, wellness, love for my body and show them how this can be achieved so they can grow their minds and bodies in the best way possible. They are my three biggest ‘whys’ and my of course my whole heart.
Most important (outside the amazing workouts, dance parties, and sticker charts) is that THIS IS THE PLACE where you will find that sense of belonging. A true sisterhood that will lift you up. The place you can find yourself and BE the BEST YOU both mentally and physically. The connections you are going to make in the next few months are going to be with you forever. I’m speaking from the heart and from experience 😊
My superpower? Organizational awesomeness – I can show you how to fit almost any kind of activity in even the most packed busy days – so don’t be shy and reach out. Can’t wait to see you all on the page and help guide and lift you all up over the next few weeks!
There’s nothing YOU can’t do, and I am very excited to see how you all shine over the next few weeks.
Ashley Davies ~ Parksville, BC

Hello! My name is Ashley and I am SO honored and SO EXCITED to be one of your Spring 2023 Ambassadors! This will be my 12th consecutive HRM Journey and my first as Ambassador!I live in beautiful Parksville, BC. I am a proud momma to two adult kids, 22 and 19 as well as a bonus mom to a 13 yr old.
I absolutely love where I live and I frequent the nearby forests and ocean often. I also love travelling to connect with other HRM's in their communities all over Vancouver Island! My HRM connections are some of my most cherished friendships, and some of these women I have yet to meet IRL! Together we have shared some of the most amazing adventures and epic experiences! The connection we share on the page is truly the most unique part of HRM. In this community there is a constant source of support and strength and motivation. We are here to cheer on each other, celebrate all of our WINS and to LIFT each other up when things get hard.
Each Journey for me has looked a little different, but each Journey I have learned and obtained valuable knowledge align with tools and skills. All of these have allowed me to really be open and truly loving of myself. We are all amazing and perfectly imperfect ❤️.
There is so much support and inspiration on the page. Seek it out, Soak it up and put yourself out there! 3 If this is your first time, it might seem scary but trust me.. this is where the magic is!
Carol Church ~ Sherwood Park, AB

Hello you Beautiful chosen Sistas!!
I am so honoured to have been chosen to be a part of the ambassador team and am excited to journey with you and watch you grow and flourish! I am a 64 yr old healthy, fit retired RN entering my 12 journey! Married to Rod for 43 yrs with 2 fabulous grown daughters with spouses, and who have showered me with 6 beautiful grandkiddies!! My family is the center of my universe and a big part of the reason why I choose to live a healthy lifestyle! HRM has given me tools to pursue goals of living that balanced that healthy lifestyle! Like many, HRM entered my life at a low point, one where I was facing retirement and old age, menopausal, with some extra “ weight “ and unsure of how to break the unhappy, unfulfilled rut of life I was in!
I overheard a co worker telling a group of fellow RNs about the positive impact HRM had on her life; and I had witnessed the impressive transformation myself the previous weeks!! Without analyzing I said “ sign me up” and I have not looked back! Over these past journeys I have found so much more than the awesome workouts, nutrition advice, physio support! I have gained community filled with so many positive, inspiring, uplifting women intent on lifting each other up through good and bad and encouraging me to be a better version of myself! I have learned to shift my mindset to one of positivity and gratitude. I have learned that I am capable and strong and can do hard things… I am enough!! I have found new connections and formed long lasting friendships! I have found the Joy and zest for life that I had lost!
Chantal Byrnes ~ Nanaimo, BC

Hi everyone! My name is Chantal and this is my 1st (eeek!!) time as an HRM Ambassador. HRM has been the steady constant in my life for over two years and I'm so excited to be joining the Spring 2023 journey as part of the amazing ambassador team.
I was introduced to HRM through some co-workers and was hooked! It was important for me to find a program that was going to work with my schedule and keep me motivated. HRM just hit all of the boxes for me. I treat each journey as if it was my first and learn something new each and every time.
It took me a while to come out of my shell and post my 'swelfies', but now that's just a normal routine. I've had some great and not-so-great journeys, but each one has taught me something about myself and I end each journey stronger than when I started. It's amazing how my motivation for working out has changed over the years. How I feel after a workout and the effect it has on mental health and all areas of my life is what keeps me coming back. And this awesome group of women!! I have never felt so much support from people I don't even know. I've heard of people coming back to this group just for the positivity. Such a great space.
I grew up on Vancouver Island and am lucky enough to live and work in Nanaimo. I love running, my spin bike (proud member of the HRM Spin Queens right here), being on the water with my boyfriend and his boat, reading, dogs, my friends and family, travelling, music, baseball.....pretty much all the things!!
I'm so grateful to be taking part in this spring journey with you all. There's just something about making our way through the winter and having a fresh start with spring. If this is your first time here - amazing! And welcome 🙂. You are about to experience a community like no other.
Christine McBride ~ Winnipeg, MB

Hello beautiful ladies! I am overjoyed to be here for my 9th journey and my third time as an ambassador.
I live in Winnipeg with my husband Andy and two kids, Sam and Grace. We round out the crew with our dog Rico and cat Skelly. I work as a Detail Inspector/ Welder at a large aerospace company here in the city and I am currently taking my final course to complete my Certificate in Management at U of M. This has been a long endeavour and to be so close to the finish line is exciting!
I came to HRM through a good friend and I haven’t looked back since! This community is so much more than just workouts and nutrition, it really is a special place that I hadn’t found before. There is something truly heartwarming about women cheering and supporting other women. I have made friendships and connected with women who inspire me. If you see someone on the page who wows you or speaks to you on another level, please reach out to her. It can be scary to put yourself out there but I promise you it will come back to you tenfold. This is a community like no other!
My promise to you is that I will always keep it real. You will see my struggles, victories, and everything in between. I’m excited to get started and cheer you on as we navigate this journey together. Let’s do this!
Clare Buchacher ~ Fort Saskatchewan, AB

Hello! Welcome to the Spring Journey. This is my 13th journey! Some of my journeys have been super strong. Some not so strong. One of the important things I’ve learned is consistency is everything and action precedes motivation. If you ever feel like life is hard or busy and need a nudge to find that time for movement message me! Ive felt it all!
My first journey was a spring journey and there’s something about spring and new beginnings that brings joy and excitement! I’ve been honoured to be an ambassador in the past and love that I am here again to cheer you all on!
About me.. I am a wife to my high school sweetheart. We have 2 grown children who married the best spouses! 1 grandson, my mom lives close by, and 2 crazy hounds. Family is everything to me and I am so blessed we are so close. I am an RN who works a part time position in day surgery, casual in ER and OR. I am 55 years young and navigating the hormonal changes of “experiences years”. I have found HRM workouts are the best for this time in my life ….. well all times but now especially. I love cycling, lifting and swimming and XC skiing. What I love about HRM is the diversity of the program. Beginner? There’s modifications. Experienced? There’s a way to challenge yourself. Love other sports like running? Here’s how to incorporate them into the HRM program. The support and encouragement is above and beyond any other program I’ve tried. I’ve met in person and online some incredible women. This community is diverse in age and ability but the common thread is how we encourage each other to be our best selves, it really is a program for all.
I look forward to doing this journey alongside all of you, my promise to you is I’ll be here to encourage, offer tips and tricks and keep it real. Let’s go!
Donna Schibli ~ Smithers, BC

I am honoured to be serving as an ambassador once again. This is such an amazing team with so much to offer to all of us. My name is Donna Schibli and I live in the small town of Smithers northern BC. I look forward to growing and learning from all of you as we do this journey together. A huge heartfelt welcome to everyone!
I am 59 years old and semi retired from my career as a dental assistant - I actually only work one day a week training new staff and co-ordinating one of the visiting specialists. I became the sole owner of a quilt and yarn shop when earlier this year my business partner had a massive stroke and passed away. Taking care of my health was already a priority but if I ever doubted it’s importance her loss made it very clear to me why it is so necessary. I have a hubby of 35 years who is very supportive and will even say “do you have your workout to do before we hit the hot tub”? He fully understands how important it is to me. I also have 2 grown children, both married and a spunky little 2 year old granddaughter with a another grandchild due this July.
There are so many reasons why I love HRM. The connections you make with like-minded women is like nothing I have ever experienced in any other group. Everyone is here to cheer each other on as they strive to improve their health. No judgement just genuine support! Another, great aspect is it takes minimal equipment and is can all be done from home. And no matter what your age or physical ability it is possible to do the workouts.
This is your journey and the veterans will tell you no two journeys are the same.
The gains can come in different forms; sometimes physical and other times internal. But I can assure you with hard work and consistency you will feel much healthier. This program is not about outward beauty but rather inner strength, positivity and good health.
So, make this journey about you whether it is your first or your tenth. For those here for the first time, be a good student, read the material, do the homework and then ask questions. And, take part on the page - read the posts as they can be so inspiring and validating. We want to hear from you too.
look forward to reading all of your introductions and learning more about each and everyone of you.
Congratulations on taking the first step to a better version of you.
Let’s do this!
Donna
Fallon Campbell ~ Grosse Isle, MB

Hello all!
I am a joy seeking, energy creating, wellness loving woman from Manitoba, and I am so excited to be with Healthy Role Models for my TENTH journey- and second time as an ambassador! I am a wife (to a kick-butt husband). A mom (3 kiddos and one fur baby). A twin. A high school teacher. A coach. I love sushi and popcorn (not at the same time), spinning and running, musicals, singing and dancing, podcasts, and summers at the lake.
My story with HRM started 4.5 years ago after the birth of my third child. Fitness has always been important to me, as has mental wellness. However, I was at a time in my life where I could not muster up a positive thought about myself. I was a sleep deprived, mom of three, renovating my dream home, and I lost my joy. One day, I saw a friend post about a “fitness” group called HRM. I signed up in desperation, seeing her results and joy, and the rest is history! Little did I know that “fitness” was the tip of the iceberg in HRM.
I have learned through this positive community, that I AM WORTH IT. I have discovered a self-esteem that had been lost for so long, and I have so much joy. Am I strong as heck now? yepppers… but my gains are way past strong.
My advice for you is that comparison will rob you of joy. You may find yourself feeling ‘less than’ from time to time. Remember that this is YOUR journey. Are you proud of yourself? Use that feeling of pride to feed your joy.
Deep breath. Let’s dive in!
Ginny Folster ~ West Kelowna, BC

My name is Ginny Folster ("Gin G Lee" on FB) and I am so so honored and thrilled to have been selected as one of your Spring Journey 2023 Ambassadors and can't wait to get this party started!!
I am a mother to 2 incredible all grown up girls and have been the wife to an amazing man for 21 yrs (28 together). I have lived and worked in the Okanagan Valley (Kelowna area) for the last 9 years however my heart still belongs to Vancouver Island which is where I refer to as home. ❤️
This will be my 6th journey with HRM and I can tell you with certainty I'm here for the long haul! My first journey in Autumn 2020 was truly life changing for me ... my mind, body, soul and HEART were positively impacted forever!! Before joining HRM I had been in a bad way with all the life feelings and struggles for quite sometime until one day a beautiful little birdie (April Allen) gave me a gentle nudge that set my tail on fire and I will forever be grateful for that gift.
This community has helped me realize and truly believe that I am STRONG, CAPABLE and FEARLESS!! I have learned how to genuinely LOVE the woman I am, how to PRIORITIZE me and my health and still BALANCE all the other parts and people in my life. I have made the most wonderful friendships, witnessed the most incredible transformations and been apart of the most heart filling moments and conversations!!
I have a little secret ... There's MAGIC here!!
I have always been an active, hard working, passionate and motivated individual AND now I'm here to help lift, support, guide, INSPIRE and propel YOU forward, big or small steps, FORWARD is what we do ladies!!
I am beyond excited to be Journeying with you all!!
Take the leap, trust the process, do the work and let's CRUSH this shall we!!?
See you on the page soon!! 💙

Heather Prencipe ~ Nanaimo, BC

Heyo!
My name is Heather and I am pumped to be here and pumped that you are here too! I like how everyone and anyone can jump into this Healthy Role Models community in any part of their life - EVERYONE WELCOME! This is a very supportive community, so I dare you to be brave, jump into it, and enjoy the swim.
I am an island girl, born into a commercial fishing family, so I feel the most free, and the most ME, when I am on the water - even better if I am reeling in a fishy. Real life takes over though, and it turns out I am on the land a lot of the time. On land, I am married to my love Jon, and we have two kids Enzo (9) and Gia (6). They will all make appearances in my swelfies I am sure! While I'm on land, I do need a job, so I am a GIS technician working from home, and on the side I like screen printing things in our basement - gotta have hobbies right?!
I have a few tid bits of advice that I have heard from others and some that I have learned on my own. Fear not early morning workouts - you will not be more tired at the end of the day. Lift the weights in the morning despite what noises they make and despite who it may or may not wake up - it is worth it. Be brave and post in this community because people want to connect with you, and the connection will blow you away. Post the swelfie (sweaty selfie post workout) - somehow it keeps you engaged and accountable, and keeps you sticking to your intentions. I am all about the #OneShotSwelfie so I don't overthink it - blurry, sweaty, fuzzy hair, mascara eyes - it doesn't matter, but it does keep you engaged which is the important part.
Here are a few of my favourite things, just for fun. I love pasta, and 5 cent candies. As I age, I am learning to curb these things haha. I love loud tropical house music while I drive, and am always on the hunt for a new favourite song. My sport of choice is fieldhockey. I love fun inter-locking tiles - random I know. I love joy, stillness, excitement and adventuring.
I am looking forward to cheering us all on to a healthy lifestyle, so I will see you on the page - and hopefully in real life too!
See ya there!
Yeow!

Janelle Milligan ~ Norman Wells, NT

I just want to start off by saying that I couldn’t be more excited to be an Ambassador for Spring 2023! To have the chance to help guide, inspire and most of all, cheer you ladies on to help you reach new goals is such an honour. *insert excitement squeal*
Hiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! My name is Janelle. I’m originally from Nova Scotia but have called the Norman Wells, Northwest Territories (Google it. I’m way up there) home for almost 9 years. I’m a wife and and a Mom of 2… cats that is who are my chosen babies. Seriously, one gets yearly vacations to Edmonton to go to the dentist! They’re my world. I don’t know how all you human moms do it, so much to juggle, you’re all amazing!
I work with the government at a super busy job that I’m loving but it has me glued to a chair most of the day. That’s why you’ll see many pics of me bundled up in all my fluffy winter gear walking back and forth to work even on the days when it’s -50. That’s right, -50 exists and it’s cold. It makes me feel pretty tough though. Who doesn’t want to feel tough?! Aside from that I’m a huge softie full of love that I’m ready to give and receive from you all.
My fitness journey started probably in my 30’s. I’m part of the over 40’s club now. How the heck did that happen?! Who is with me on that one, eh?! I have tried many things, but HRM has proven to be the best fit for me. Even though, I’m mostly a team of one in the remote area that I live in, it’s the connection of this community that makes HRM so special and makes me want to keep improving myself. That seems to be the the loudest message around here, it’s because of YOU that all of us are here. Remember that throughout your journey, HRM wouldn’t be the magical place that it is without each and every one of you. If a post reaches one person or 30 people they’re all important. Keep showing up, for us and more importantly for you. You never know the positive impact you could make on someone with a single sentence or story. Helping other people is best feeling ever!
I was lucky enough to be a finalist back in Spring of 2022. During that time I kept repeating “make yourself proud.” It’s never about perfection or comparison, it’s about making yourself proud. When you feel that, it will make all the difference. I’m also a big believer in balance, enjoy vegetables, healthy proteins, and stay hydrated but make sure you still enjoy a glass of wine and occasional poutine. Balance and sustainability are my jam!
Here’s to Spring 2023! Let’s spread the love, share the sweaty pics, make hilarious jokes (I like to think I’m hilarious), crush the workouts, dance when the music hits just right and make yourself PROUD! Can’t wait to see all your faces!!
Jacqueline Bennett ~ Victoria, BC

Hello HRM beauties and welcome to the 2023 Spring Journey!!!
My name is Jacqueline Bennett (aka Jax) and I am beyond excited and very honoured to be one of your Ambassador’s for this journey. Spring is one of my most favourite times of year, a time of renewal and fresh beginnings. I am so looking forward to growing and thriving with you all during this journey and helping to make it one of our best yet! This will be my 16th journey and seventh as Ambassador with Healthy Role Models. Joining this incredible community was honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I cannot imagine life without it. I have formed lifelong friendships here and it has truly changed me inside and out.
A little bit about me, I am married to a wonderful husband who was my teenage sweetheart and we have an 11 year old son James and a four year old dog Bella. I am an Emergency Dispatch Coordinator for Fortis BC (LOVE my job) and work full time. We live in Victoria BC and one of our favourite past times is boating on our 34’ catamaran. During the summer months you will find us exploring the Gulf Islands as much as we can enjoying hiking, kayaking, swimming, and soaking in alllll the #outdoorphins we can!!
I joined HRM back in the Fall of 2015 when I was at my heaviest weight and not very happy in life. I had been fairly active in previous years doing mainly bootcamps or gym workouts but I never fully committed to anything. When I first heard about this group I honestly thought, “How much could an on-line fitness group truly help me?” I was admittedly skeptical but shortly after joining I could see how special this group truly was. I discovered one of the main things missing for me before…Connection! This is one of the most unique things about HRM, connection. It is what brings the magic. I had no idea that a group of on-line women could keep you motivated and be so supportive. So different from anything I had done and I have been hooked ever since. By being so connected to the group and learning all that I can, I feel more empowered and confident than I ever have before. HRM isn’t just about exercise, it is SO much more. It is a journey of learning how to live a healthier life, a journey of mental wellness and learning to love yourself and every imperfect part of you! I have suffered from anxiety for years and used to have to take medication to keep it at bay. It was after starting this program that I was able to stop. Daily movement is my medicine!
Every journey has been a little different for me. I have had journeys where the exercise was my complete focus and others nutrition (my monster!) and I have also been knocked out by injury. Even when I was out I still stuck with the program. I found that I needed that connection to keep my awareness of health and nutrition going. This connection also helped me to learn the phrase “What CAN I do” instead of “I CAN’T do”. This is a life journey and we will always have ups and downs but the most important part is that we keep taking steps forward no matter how big or small.
Each person’s journey is unique and it is so important to remember to not compare yourself’ to others. Some are here for their first journey and some are here for their 12th!! My advice to new comers is to take advantage of all this program has to offer and go into it slowly. It can be overwhelming at the start but the information is so rewarding. Soak it all in. I made a commitment to make my health a priority so that I would be a better person for myself and my family and I am excited and honoured to help you along your journey to achieve your health and wellness goals as I continue towards mine too!!
Jennifer Gray ~ Moosomin, SK

Hello and welcome to HRM!
I am so happy you took the leap and joined us here! You are in such great hands. Just you wait and see…
My name is Jennifer Gray and I am honoured to be a part of the Ambassador team for the Spring ‘23 Journey. I have a feeling that this journey is going to be full of magic!!
My HRM journey started in 2017 when I joined on the very last day of registration. My life has undeniably changed since that very day. All for the better! With each and every journey, I have learned so much more about myself and what I am capable of.
I live in a small prairie town of approx 2500 ppl. called Moosomin, Saskatchewan. My husband and I have raised 3 great kids together. Adam(28) Avery (22) and Blake (19). I have 1 grandson Nathan (1) and another grandson due in April!! They are my “why”.
I am a retired dental hygienist. I worked 25 years in the field. However, in the last 2 years, I have had to endure 2 Rotator cuff surgeries. During this time and post recovery, I engaged in past journeys as I am a firm believer that there is always something you CAN do. I am proof of that!
This spring, I am cleared for physical activity. Yay! Even though this is my 13th journey, I will be starting from the very beginning alongside all of you.
My biggest piece of advice is to get involved on the page and into the community. There is so much goodness HRM has to offer. Soak it allllll up!
Once again, welcome my chosen sister!
Your new besties are waiting for you! Let’s gooooooo!
We cannot wait to cheer you on<3
Xoxo
Jennifer
Katie Hiller ~ Beaumont, AB

Hello and welcome to the Spring 2023 journey!
I have been a part of the HRM community since the spring of 2017 – I was looking for a way to be consistent with my health after having my kids when I noticed a friend of mine was eating better and looking healthy. She recommended HRM, and I haven’t looked back since!
I am a high school science teacher and my husband and I have two girls who are 9 and 11. I love that for most of their lives they’ve known me as someone who works out! What an amazing thing to be able to model for them.
HRM has given me the support that I need to stay moving, and the confidence to try new things. When you can see other women like you doing cool activities, it tells your brain that you can probably do those things too. Since joining HRM, I have hiked to the top of several mountains (something I never thought I would do), paddle boarded in the ocean, and gone to an aerial park! I can also do not-as-cool things (like help move heavy boxes) way more easily than I could before. Truly training for life!
I love the accountability that this community provides, and I hope that you reach out if you ever have questions or need encouragement. Looking forward to crushing it with you!
Kim Bresky ~Brandon, MB

Hey everyone! I am Kim, located in Brandon MB. I am married to my best friend and adventure buddy. We have a 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son. We live on an acreage with our 3 cats and 2 dogs. We enjoy camping, fishing, biking and skiing together, not the cats, they can’t fit their skis :) Manitoba may be the coldest province, but we make the most of it! I am currently bridging from LPN to RN so life gets a bit chaotic, but whose isn’t?!
I am really excited to be a first time ambassador for my 8th journey! Like other members I joined Healthy Role Models thinking it was like most other workout programs, with the goal to lose weight. I have had great successes and wins (all celebrated with fellow HRMers). I’ve also quit or shy’ed away, reverting back to my bubble. What keeps me coming back is the support. When I feel I have no one to turn to or am scared to be vulnerable, these women are there. No judgement, just encouragement, support and advice. Their support has changed my life and encouraged me to “be the change”.
With anything in life, you get out what you put in. I encourage you to take that baby step, to reach out, make a connection. Your health is so much more than the physical aspect of it. We are right here beside you!
Laurelle Loe ~ St. Albert, AB

Welcome! My name is Laurelle, and I’m so excited about what is ahead for us all. This is my fourteenth journey with Healthy Role Models and my tenth as an ambassador, and I say with certainty that our Healthy Role Model community is a very special place. Whatever your goals or reasons for being here... I can assure you that you belong!
I am 39 and my husband and I will celebrate our 18th anniversary in May. We have four kids, and we both work full time. Life is full, fun, and seems to be getting a bit crazier each year, but in the best way!
Before I tell you about why I love HRM, I should explain a bit about where I was before joining in the autumn of 2016. I had just spent two years struggling against the scale, watching the numbers creep up and feeling my energy and confidence creep down. I never ate breakfast, survived on Diet Coke and coffee, and had those extra large sized bags of chips hidden in my car. I knew I wanted something different but I had no idea how to achieve it.
HRM offered me the tools I needed to make those changes. I have learnt how to make my health a priority, how to reshape negative habits into habits that serve my goals, and how to fuel my body. More than that, HRM offered me community and support - key pieces I didn’t even know I was missing - which have been an amazing blessing in my life. My husband and our kids are all seeing the benefits of these changes. Not only do I have more energy, but we are enjoying being active as a family.
It’s important to include that I am still here because this program is about a sustainable, achievable, and positive lifestyle. I have more capacity to tackle obstacles, adapt to uncertainty, and embrace new opportunities. In fact my word for 2023 is adventure… looking for chances to embrace and enjoy life in big and small ways.
At the root of all of this is the HRM community, where we are encouraged to cheer, lift up, grow, and learn. I love being here and I am so glad you are too!
Lisa Michaleski ~ Selkirk, MB

Welcome to YOUR Journey with Healthy Role Models Autumn 2022! I am so grateful to be a part of this AMAZING journey with YOU! I am just as excited to join you in my 12th journey as I was my first! My name is Lisa Michaleski, and I will turn a healthy, and strong 49 years old in the spring as well as celebrate my 25th year of marriage to my biggest #ripple. My boys, who are the reason I stay active are, Jackson (16) and Matthew (13). We also care for our mom who cannot take care of herself which fuels my drive to remain healthy and active as I age. I am a high school teacher in Selkirk, Manitoba. The last 7 years I have been more active than I was in my 20's or 30’s. Through HRM I have truly embraced fitness and healthy nutrition for a healthy sustainable LIFE.
When I started Healthy Role Models, I was looking for guidance with workouts and nutrition which I received whole - heartedly. What I didn't realize I would get, was a team of friends / mentors / chosen sisters that would help, inspire, challenge and motivate me to be a better version of myself. In the past I had looked at fitness and nutrition as things that I had to do, rather than what I choose to do to allow me to live my best life. The mindset change I have had in these last years, I would consider my greatest strength. The ripple effect that HRM has had in my home, personal life and work life is so rewarding, I see years of motivation from you being voiced by my children. It fills me with so much gratitude for this community. I am so proud and forever grateful to be a part of this amazing, inspiring group of women
As an ambassador, I hope to lead by example, to motivate, inspire and empower YOU. We will share our triumphs and challenges, we will teach each other how to pivot through challenges and also share in our joys and fears because WE ARE WORTH IT! My advice to you is find a CHOSEN SISTER to watch, then find another, and another because when we support and participate in each other's journeys we are unstoppable and accountable. I am so excited to watch as you embark on a new journey to the rest of what is possible, I cannot wait to connect with you!
Midge Smith ~ Qualicum, BC

Woohoo and welcome to the 2023 spring journey. My name is Midge Smith. I will be 61 years young, live in Qualicum Beach and married 37 years to my guy Ron. We have two beautiful daughters and two awesome grandkids who are my why! This is my 9th' consecutive journey.
Some of my favourite things I enjoy are mountain biking, running, weight lifting, hiking, swimming, and lately pickleball. I also try to make time for baking, reading, and quilting.HRM has taught me that I can accomplish hard things, believe in myself, and if you follow through with consistency you can reach your goals. Connections I make on the page and in real life inspire me every day.
I am honored once again to be your ambassador. I am looking forward to help guide you, cheer for you, and hopefully inspire you. This community is like no other. I can't wait for us to get started!
Paula Flemming ~ Port Alberni, BC

I am excited for the Spring 2023 journey; journey of change. I have been apart of Healthy Role Models, HRM, since Autumn 2015. This will be my 16th journey and I continue to learn and grow each journey.
I am 49 years old and live in Port Alberni, BC on beautiful Vancouver Island with my husband and biggest supporter. We live an active and healthy lifestyle with working out, hiking, yoga and new to me riding bike. Eating healthy and nutrition meals has become away of life. I don’t deny myself some indulgences but have found my balance. I am in the best shape of my life, stronger, fitter and a healthier mindset.
HRM came to me when needed a boost. I joined HRM as a fitness journey and got so much more. To be surrounded by a community of strong likeminded women has been a powerful boost. The connections formed through HRM are like no other. I have stepped out of my comfort zone, push myself to new limits and become a much happier person.
I look forward to being apart of your magnificent journey.

Shanna Patrickson ~ Nanaimo, BC

Hello Ladies!! I am honoured to have been chosen as one of your Ambassadors for Spring 2023. This will be my 9th journey and my first time as an Ambassador. This community is like no other and I think you will love it here!
I live in Nanaimo, BC with my husband and teenage daughter and I have an adult son that lives close by. I love to get outside and explore trails, waterfalls and great views are my favourite. You will often find me on my yoga mat, reading, or trying out a new spin class with the #HRMspinqueens. When I first joined Healthy Role Models in 2019, I was just looking for another fitness challenge but quickly realized it's much more that that. The workouts are fantastic and Tanna is an amazing trainer, but I think you will find it's also the community of like-minded diverse women that keeps you invested time after time. It's so much more than a 12 week physical challenge.
I have met some of the most amazing women that I wouldn’t have crossed paths with if it weren't for taking that leap of faith 4 years ago to give the program a try. HRM has helped grow my confidence and definitely made me a better version of myself.
If this is your first journey, I encourage you to go all in and step out of your comfort zone. Have fun, it really has been life changing for me! I hope that I can help inspire and support you in this journey! Can't wait to cheer you on!!
