some of whom have walked the very same path as you
Jacqueline Bennett ~ Victoria, BC
Hello HRM beauties and welcome to the 2022 Spring Journey!!!
My name is Jacqueline Bennett (aka Jax) and this will be my 14th journey and my sixth as Ambassador. I am beyond excited and very honoured to be one of your Ambassador’s for this journey. A little bit about me, I am married to a wonderful husband who was my teenage sweetheart and we have a 10 year old son James and a four year old dog Bella. I am an Emergency Dispatch Coordinator for Fortis BC (LOVE my job) and work full time. We live in Victoria BC and one of our favourite past times is boating on our 34’ catamaran. During the summer months you will find us exploring the Gulf Islands as much as we can enjoying hiking, kayaking and taking many long walks.
I joined HRM back in the Fall of 2015 when I was at my heaviest weight and not very happy in life. I had been fairly active in previous years doing mainly bootcamps or gym workouts but I never fully committed to anything. When I first heard about this group I honestly thought, “How much could an on-line fitness group truly help me?” I was admittedly skeptical but shortly after joining I could see how special this group truly was. I discovered one of the main things missing for me before…Connection! This is one of the most unique things about HRM, connection. It is what brings the magic. I had no idea that a group of on-line women could keep you motivated and be so supportive. So different from anything I had done and I have been hooked ever since. By being so connected to the group and learning all that I can, I feel more empowered and confident than I ever have before. HRM isn’t just about exercise, it is SO much more. It is a journey of learning how to live a healthier life, a journey of mental wellness and learning to love yourself and every imperfect part of you! I have suffered from anxiety for years and used to have to take medication to keep it at bay. It was after starting this program that I was able to stop. Daily movement is my medicine!
Every journey has been a little different for me. I have had journeys where the exercise was my complete focus and others nutrition (my monster!) and I have also been knocked out by injury. Even when I was out I still stuck with the program. I found that I needed that connection to keep my awareness of health and nutrition going. This connection also helped me to learn the phrase “What CAN I do” instead of “I CAN’T do”. This is a life journey and we will always have ups and downs but the most important part is that we keep taking steps forward no matter how big or small.
Each person’s journey is unique and it is so important to remember to not compare yourself’ to others. Some are here for their first journey and some are here for their 12th!! My advice to new comers is to take advantage of all this program has to offer and go into it slowly. It can be overwhelming at the start but the information is so rewarding. Soak it all in. I made a commitment to make my health a priority so that I would be a better person for myself and my family and I am excited and honoured to help you along your journey to achieve your health and wellness goals as I continue towards mine too!
Jill Hewitt ~ Ladysmith, BC
Ladies! I am so happy that you are here! I am humbled and honoured to be one of your ambassadors for Spring 2022. The positive energy of this community is infectious, and it’s hard not to fall in love with every aspect of HRM.
I live in Ladysmith, BC – where we are famous for our cinnamon buns and HUGE hills! I have two young girls, and I love the impact that HRM has had on their lives. They are my biggest cheerleaders – taking a part in my workouts– they will also critique my form during workouts. My husband is my biggest supporter – he understands my need for balance, and when I need a gentle push.
This community has taught me that I cannot pour from an empty cup, and that it is NEVER selfish to take time for myself.
This will be the 14th journey for me, and I learn something new about myself each time. I have met some of the most amazing women in this community, and I have made some pretty big changes in my life over the past few years – thanks to the confidence that I have built from being a part of HRM. This community has seen me: give birth to two beautiful girls, buy a house, leave a job of 11 years, commit to a 3-month leadership program, get PN1 certified in nutritional coaching… and so much more!
I love to experiment in the kitchen, and love creating plant-based meals. I have been vegetarian for over 13 years, and enjoy sharing recipes and my weekly food prep. Questions about plant-based booking? Just ask.
I love to get out running and hiking in the Cowichan Valley, and am always up for company!
Immerse yourself in the community, have fun, and really TRUST THE PROCESS. HRM may become exactly what you needed, and didn’t even know it… or maybe you did. I really hope that I can inspire and support you through your journey. It is YOUR journey after all, remember that.
Rachel Wu ~ Winnipeg, MB
It is the 2022 SPRING Healthy Role Models Journey! I am so excited to be here with you and I want you to remember that YOU are in the RIGHT place
My name is Rachel Wuuuuuuu (yes, that is said in a cheering voice) This is my 9th journey with HRM, and I am honoured to be a returning Ambassador for the 5th time. I live in Winnipeg, MB with my hubby and 2 daughters, whom I am modeling a healthy lifestyle for. They are my WHYs of why I am here: To talk to my body with love, to fuel my body like the machine it is, to honour what my body is telling me. These are all parts of my health journey and I hope my girls grow up to be STRONG like their momma.
My advice for you is to figure out WHY you are here. If you are here to FEEL your best, LIVE your truth and GROW into who you were meant to be, you want to CONNECT to those feelings regularly! Connect on the group’s page to be inspired by others striving towards the same things as you. Connect by positing daily, cheering others on and by surrounding yourself with authentic positivity! Being engulfed in the Facebook page allows us to be inspired by others, who are showing us the way towards making healthy and sustainable changes in our life.
This journey is just that….a journey. It’s not a 12 week ‘quick loss’ program, it is a way to make long lasting change in all aspects of your life. I can’t wait to take a front row seat to your journey and cheer you on
Laurelle Loe ~ St. Albert, AB
Welcome! My name is Laurelle, and I’m so very excited about what is ahead for us all. This is my twelvth journey with Healthy Role Models and my eighth as an ambassador, and I can assure you that this Healthy Role Model community is a very special place. Whatever your goals or reasons for being here... I am thrilled to cheer you on this Spring!
I am 38 and my husband and I are celebrating our 17th anniversary this May. We have four kids, and we both work full time. Life is full, fun, and seems to be getting a bit crazier each year, but in the best way!
Before I tell you about why I love HRM, I should explain a bit about where I was before joining in the fall of 2016. I had just spent two years struggling against the scale, watching the numbers creep up and feeling my energy and confidence creep down. I never ate breakfast, survived on Diet Coke and coffee, and had those extra large sized bags of chips hidden in my car. I knew I wanted something different but I had no idea how to achieve it.
HRM offered me the tools I needed to make those changes. I have learnt how to make my health a priority, how to reshape negative habits into habits that serve my goals, and how to fuel my body. More than that, HRM offered me community and support - key pieces I didn’t even know I was missing - which have been an amazing blessing in my life. My husband and our kids are all seeing the benefits of these changes. Not only do I have more energy, but we are enjoying being active as a family.
To finish, I want to add that I am still here because this program is about a sustainable, achievable, and positive lifestyle. I have more capacity to tackle obstacles, adapt to uncertainty, and embrace new opportunities. These are skills and lessons that ripple into all areas of wellness and I love being a student! I’m excited to be here alongside all of you this Spring 2022 journey <3
April Allen ~ Campbell River, BC
My name is April, and I am so honoured to have been chosen as an Ambassador for the Spring 2022 Journey. This will be my 16th journey with Healthy Role Models and my sixth time as an Ambassador. This community has been a huge part of my life for the past 7 years, and I couldn’t imagine not being a part of it. I have transformed physically, but more importantly mentally.
When I found Healthy Role Models back in 2014, I was a new mom and looking for something to kick-start myself back into a healthy lifestyle. I was tired, lacked patience, and in general sad about the way I felt. I am so grateful that what I found in HRM was so much more than just workouts! I found a community full of strong, supportive, empowering women and a place where I felt I belonged. Since that time, I have had a few more big life changes, but throughout it all, HRM has been a consistent piece of my life.
I have a medical condition which causes me lower back pain and stiffness that I deal with to a degree every day. Though I am unable to do some of the things that I used to (high impact exercises), I know that there is always something I CAN do. And that is what I focus on. One of the best things for my condition is to MOVE, so that’s what I do.
I enjoy living an active lifestyle and encouraging others to join me. During this pandemic, we have had to adapt to many changes. One of those is working out virtually with other HRMs. I have learned to embrace new things like working out over Zoom, and I LOVE IT! It has been amazing to still have connections with other women working towards their goals.
Healthy Role Models has helped me in so many ways. It has helped me build strong foundations in many areas – strength, mindset, social connection. My advice for anyone reading this is to lean in, have fun, learn, grow, and embrace challenges. You will come out stronger on the other side. If you’re ready to take your health to the next level, LET’S DO THIS! I’m here cheering you on; don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know how I can help!!
Aaron Lukoni ~ Victoria, BC
Hello ladies and HELLO SPRING!
There’s just something about spring that makes everything awesome – the fresh air, the first flowers, the warmer breeze through the budding trees…and I want to warmly welcome you to the Spring Journey! Whether this is your 1st or 100th journey, I can’t wait to share the adventure alongside you and I promise that this 12 weeks of community, commitment and consistency will change your life.
It is a know fact that everyone has too many things on the go - we all have multiple balls we juggle every day. Work, life, kids activities, spouses, friends, ummm pandemnic?!?!?! and now it’s time for you to really set your sights on YOURSELF and focus those intentions to a place where all that strength comes from - and that's within each of use. Be so proud because you’ve already taken the biggest step forward by being a part of this journey. YOU are taking this time to be your authentic self, and I’m so very honored you are here.
My backstory…and what you all really want to know…is that really how I spell my name??? The easiest answer is that my *loving* parents wanted a first born son really, really badly. They didn’t get it (obviously) but refused to change the name that they had decided on so here I am, rocking the Ay-Ay-RON and making that name stand tall and proud. I OWN my strong and if you don’t feel it now, you are going to feel it by the end of this journey I promise you!
This will be my 11th journey with HRM and my third as an ambassador (cue applause and high fiving virtually! They like me…they really really like me!!!!) and hello to those ladies that make up our South Island Crew!! Truthfully, Ambassador or not, I could never be without this community. I’m a mother of three amazing daughters, work full time, just finished my second masters degree and a fellowship, and balance a heavy activity and volunteer schedule. Realistically I never thought that I could find the balance I needed to be the best role model for my daughters AND make myself a priority while mirroring a healthy lifestyle. I know that I need to emulate health, wellness, love for my body and show them how this can be achieved so they can grow their minds and bodies in the best way possible. They are my three biggest ‘whys’ and my of course my whole heart.
Most important (outside the amazing workouts, dance parties, and sticker charts) is that THIS IS THE PLACE where you will find that sense of belonging. A true sisterhood that will lift you up. The place you can find yourself and BE the BEST YOU both mentally and physically. The connections you are going to make in the next few months are going to be with you forever. I’m speaking from the heart and from experience 😊
My superpower? Organizational awesomeness – I can show you how to fit almost any kind of activity in even the most packed busy days – so don’t be shy and reach out. Can’t wait to see you all on the page and help guide and lift you all up over the next few weeks!
There’s nothing YOU can’t do, and I am very excited to see how you all shine over the next few weeks.
Valentina Bogie ~ Nanaimo, BC
Hello ladies! My name is Valentina Bogie, and this will be my 7th journey and 3rd time as an HRM Ambassador which I am so excited and honored to be a part of the Spring 2022 Journey.
Married to my number one supported Brian for 13 years and together we have a beautiful 14-year-old daughter Siena who loves to dance. I have been employed by the same company for over 30 years, I work hard, I am good at what I do, and I attribute the strong work ethic that I have to the way my parents raised me and I want to model that for my daughter.
I have always been very active. I’ve played high level soccer in my early twenties, but my nutrition was not the greatest and honestly, I did not really understand the importance of fueling my body properly and always have struggled with my weight. Being part of the HRM community has really taught me the importance of balance when it comes to nutrition. When I first joined to me it was about losing the weight, but I now know it’s not about the number on the scale. For me it is about being healthy, happy, accepting my body image and feeling strong and fit.
What I really enjoy about Healthy Role Models there is no judging or competition. It truly is about yourself “running your own race”. There have been days that have not gone to plan for me, but I have learned to pivot and move forward. This is one thing that I have really come to terms with as in the past I would get upset with myself and then make unhealthy choices.
HRM is truly a wonderful inspiring community where we all come together to support and cheer each other on not just virtually but also out in the community.
Marti Oltmann ~ Comox, BC
I am so very excited, and honoured, to have been chosen as a Healthy Role Models ambassador for this journey! This is such a powerful group, full of wonderful women.
My name is Marti, and this is journey number nine for me. I moved to Comox in February of 2020, but have been on Vancouver Island since September of 2013. I work as an RVT at a veterinary hospital in Parksville. Honestly, I love my job.
I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was diagnosed about 20 years ago. Right now, it’s controlled very well. But, if you are a member of the Chronic Condition club, believe me when I say I feel your pain. I am living proof that movement is medicine.
Healthy Role Models has brought me out of my shell. First journey (or two, maybe more), I was far too shy to go to an event. I progressed to going with a friend (also the reason I joined). The day came that she couldn’t attend, so I went on my own. Last journey,I hosted my own event. If I can do it, anyone can! Push that fear aside. You are so welcome to join any and all of them. Just because the majority of activity will be online, doesn’t mean they aren’t fun.
One more thing! I LOVE RUNNING!!! I want everyone to love something as much as I love running. Whether it’s across the street, or an ultramarathon, if you ran it - you my chosen sister, are a runner!
I am so glad you’re here with me. Trust the process. Reach out for help when you need it. You’ve got this. ❤️
Megan Gray Lysne ~ Errington, BC
Hello and Welcome to this incredible life changing community of inspiring ladies!
I am so honored to be one of the Spring 2022 Ambassadors and I'm looking forward to sharing another incredible journey with you all.
My name is Megan and I'm married to my high school sweetheart. Together we have a 14 year old Son and a 6 year old Daughter. I work as a Vet Assistant/Receptionist at a busy clinic and in the human Medical Imaging department at VIHA.
With all the titles life blesses us with it's easy to get lost and caught up in the daily shuffle. This journey will help you learn to put yourself back on the priority list. As the saying goes "You can't pour from an empty cup". You have to look after yourself first in order to have something to give to others.
I started Healthy Role Models in Autumn of 2017. I was at my all time heaviest and my health was suffering for it. A friend had been telling me about HRM and I finally took the plunge and joined the last day of registration which was also my birthday. It has been the BEST gift I've ever given myself. I admit I was the kid in high school that got a "P" in gym class, just barely a Pass. Who knew you could actually get that letter grade! Now I enjoy my workouts, I run for fun and because I can, and have even traveled to Vegas to run in the Rock 'N' Roll 10km. I've hiked mountains and trails that I used to only dream of and the best part is I can play and keep up with my active kiddos.
My advice to you is become the best student you can be. Jump head first and trust the process. There are going to be ups and downs but You CAN absolutely do this! I'm very excited to cheer you all on and watch you crush your goals!
-Megan aka: Meganator
Donna Schibli ~ Smithers, BC
I am honoured to be serving as an ambassador once again. This is such an amazing team with so much to offer to all of us. My name is Donna Schibli and I live in the small town of Smithers northern BC. I look forward to growing and learning from all of you as we do this journey together. A huge heartfelt welcome to everyone!
I am 59 years old and semi retired from my career as a dental assistant - I actually only work one day a week training new staff and co-ordinating one of the visiting specialists. I became the sole owner of a quilt and yarn shop when earlier this year my business partner had a massive stroke and passed away. Taking care of my health was already a priority but if I ever doubted it’s importance her loss made it very clear to me why it is so necessary. I have a hubby of 35 years who is very supportive and will even say “do you have your workout to do before we hit the hot tub”? He fully understands how important it is to me. I also have 2 grown children, both married and a spunky little 2 year old granddaughter with a another grandchild due this July. There are so many reasons why I love HRM. The connections you make with like-minded women is like nothing I have ever experienced in any other group. Everyone is here to cheer each other on as they strive to improve their health. No judgement just genuine support! Another, great aspect is it takes minimal equipment and is can all be done from home. And no matter what your age or physical ability it is possible to do the workouts.
This is your journey and the veterans will tell you no two journeys are the same.
The gains can come in different forms; sometimes physical and other times internal. But I can assure you with hard work and consistency you will feel much healthier. This program is not about outward beauty but rather inner strength, positivity and good health.
So, make this journey about you whether it is your first or your tenth. For those here for the first time, be a good student, read the material, do the homework and then ask questions. And, take part on the page - read the posts as they can be so inspiring and validating. We want to hear from you too.
I look forward to reading all of your introductions and learning more about each and everyone of you.
Congratulations on taking the first step to a better version of you.
Let’s do this!
Carol Church ~ Sherwood Park, AB
Hello Beautiful women and welcome to the Spring Journey! I am so excited and honoured to be chosen as one of your ambassador team, and look forward to the opportunity paying forward my gratitude for this amazing community!
My name is Carol Church (Churchey) on the page, and I happily share my consistency and positivity with you! I am committed to my physical and mental health through the daily habit of movement. And I most especially love seeing, cheering and encouraging the activity and wins of many other like minded women!
I am a 63 year old wife to a very supportive hubby of almost 42 years, who is also my biggest cheerleader; Mom to 2 beautiful young ladies, and Nana to 6 gorgeous grandchildren. I am a recently retired RN with a background in critical care!
I have always led an active lifestyle, participating in many sports, and also enjoying pursuits of hiking, biking, and rock climbing. I really never worried about weight or fitness as it was a huge part of my daily life.... Then cancer struck our lives( hubby),and the realization of continued treatments coupled with aging looming on the horizon drove us to move closer to the city. After 25 + years in the same workplace and community I was suddenly displaced into an unknown and unfamiliar environment of fear and inactivity due to obligations! Coping with ALL the things left no time for me and suddenly I felt lost, unworthy and so alone! On an extra shift at work I happened to overhear a conversation between a couple of co workers ( one of whom I secretly admired) a glowing description of her journey with HRM. Her words sparked an immediate “ I want that kind of happiness back in my life”
Enter HRM... and now beginning my tenth journey I have gained and grown exponentially💖. I have gained a treasured friend and fitness partner, but more importantly I have 100% improved my outlook on life. This community has changed my perspective on what I am capable of. I had allowed myself to be defined and consumed by the illness and fears and limitations of aging and inability to find new friends. I have learned that simple realistic goal setting, consistency, a positive attitude, practicing gratitude, and a lot of grit and grace are some of the tools HRM can provide. These tools have helped restore the feelings of self worth and self confidence. I have healthy new habits that create and sustain physical and mental health. This community is a sustainable lifestyle and each journey can uncover new potential! A community filled with powerful inspiring women who all have a story, but still strive toward being the best they can be! Supportive, encouraging, uplifting, filled with love and compassion!
I have so much admiration and pride in you for choosing to empower yourself and create the best “ you” I am honoured to cheer you on and to be alongside you on this journey!
Paula Flemming ~ Port Alberni, BC
Spring 2022 – Ambassador Bio
I am excited for the Spring 2022 journey. This will be my 14th consecutive journey with Healthy Role Models, HRM. You will see me frequently on the page; I go as Pk Flip and will be cheering you on.
I am 48years old and live in Port Alberni, BC on Vancouver Island with my husband and biggest supporter. We live an active and healthy lifestyle; finding our balance and enjoying some indulgences along the way. I have continued to show up for me. I love working out, getting out for local hikes, doing yoga and learning to love biking and running.
HRM came to me when I needed something in my life. I joined HRM as a fitness journey and it grew into something so much more. I learned that I was a part of a community of strong women. I have stepped out of my comfort zone, pushed myself to new limits and connected with others. I have become a happier person. I’m strong, fit and fabulous!
I look forward to being a part of your journey.
Ramona McAdie ~ Chilliwack, BC
Hello beautiful, welcome here
I am so honoured to be an ambassador for you in for this journey.
I signed up with HRM back in the fall of 2015 and have kept signing up every journey as there is always something new and exciting to learn and work on.
When I first joined HRM, I was nervous about trying something new. I was worried that an online fitness program wouldn’t be motivational enough. But the HRM program is full of so many great resources to help me have a healthy life. I have learned that action creates motivation, quality is more important than quantity, and how rest is so important to recharge and be my best. I have become more confident in myself, I am able to self motivate and I am learning what works best for me where I am at.
I am looking forward to being able to support you in my role as an ambassador. Please reach out to me as often as you’d like to let me know how I can best support you. Each person will have their own journey, working on their own goals. One thing I would say to each of you who are sitting on the fence is to GO FOR IT! Whether it ends good or bad, it was an experience. Enjoy the ride and find something to learn about it. Your direction is more important than your speed. And every day you have the choice on how you want to show up.
Chris Seida ~ St. Albert, AB
Welcome to the Spring 2022 Journey! I’m so honoured and excited to be an ambassador again for my 3 journey and am so excited you’ve chosen to join this amazing community of women. They are really amazing!
My name is Chris Seida, I am 42 and live in St. Albert with my husband of almost 20 years and 3 teenage girls. That’s right, all girls! They are almost 14, 16 & 18 and keep us very busy with sports & activities.
This will be my 9th HRM journey and I can’t wait! I have been a very athletic person all my life. I played a lot of volleyball and enjoyed lots of different activities like skiing and slow pitch. Then life with 3 kids got busy and the things I was interested in started to fall away and my role as a mom was the only thing left.
I suddenly found myself approaching my 40’s at the heaviest and most out of shape I had ever been. I had back pain, plantar fasciitis and no desire to do anything active. That just wasn’t me. I wanted to be active with my kids and have fun together as a family. I realized I needed to start making some changes.
A friend of mine introduced me to Healthy Role Models. I watched her do a few journeys and I wasn’t interested yet but suddenly, Spring 2018 I was ready and I wanted in! I signed up and jumped ALL in!
I was expecting a fitness program to help me lose weight. What I found was so much better. HRM is so much more than just a fitness program. It is a community of women supporting women, walking alongside each other, inspiring and encouraging each other.
This program has not only helped me become stronger and healthier physically, it has helped me become more confident and find myself again. I am a better mom for it and better role model for my girls.
When I started my first journey there were absolutely no photos of me in my phone or in the house. I always hid BEHIND the camera. Taking those first few selfies was hard but I had committed to being all in, so I did! Now my phone is full of selfies and my girls tease me about it!
I have met so many amazing women over my 8 HRM journeys and have done lots of activities with them like stairs, mountain biking, hiking in the mountains, surf yoga, the list goes on. I’ve also had the courage to try new things on my own like Stand Up Paddle boarding, kayaking, goat yoga, & zip lining.
I am so excited for this Spring Journey! It is time for fresh starts, new beginnings and being active together! I can’t wait to do this journey alongside you and support and encourage you.
Meeting new and returning HRMs is one of my favourite things and I can’t wait! I love answering questions so please reach out if you need to.
I’m so glad you’re here. You are worth it and you CAN do this! We’ve got this ladies! 🦋
Alycia Campbell ~ Stonewall, MB
Hello beauties and welcome to Spring Journey 2022! I am so honoured and excited to be joining the Ambassador team for a third time this journey. Welcome to this incredible community, we’re so glad you’re joining us!
This is journey number 10 for me! 5 amazing years with this community. Spring is my jam! The melt brings a fresh start and an ability to set new goals to slay. This community is the key for me to put my movement and mental health in the schedule along with those of my family. Getting outside is one of our favourite ways to get moving. I’m married to my husband Alan and together we have two daughters. Lucy is 7 and Maggie is 4. We live just outside of Winnipeg in a cozy small town which we love. Weekly walks up town for the mail and groceries helps break up the week with fresh air and some extra steps. During the day I’m an Insurance Broker and in the evenings, I spend my time in the studio teaching dance. I love the challenge that comes with both professions but being able to share my passion for dance with my students is my bucket filler.
I found Healthy Role Models in the way that I strive to share this community. I was a ripple. Two incredible women in my life started talking about running stairs and skipping rope while waiting for their kids to be done their activities. Watching these women make room in their life for movement was the kick in the butt I needed to remember that I can do that to. I was a new mom, heading back to work and trying to balance all the things that comes with that. So, I started tagging along. I ran the stairs. And that’s all it took for me to find the value in the pride that comes from doing something for yourself and your health. I was hooked on that feeling and this incredible community.
You’ll see me and my #girlsquad on the page often. They are my why. They certainly don’t do every exercise but they’re right there watching me as I do. I want to be strong for them as their mother, as a fellow woman and as a friend. They see me take on the physical challenge of the workouts and I want that to translate for them into their approach for handling what life will through their way. We can’t always be ready for everything, but we certainly can be strong to take it on.
Making room for this journey in your life may seem daunting. I know for me in the beginning it certainly did. All the things to learn and take in. You’ll hear lots of talk of the big O and that’s overwhelm. The feeling you get when uncertainty starts to push your why out of the way. If I can share any advice, it would be to go with the flow and trust your gut. Don’t be afraid to try something different. Chanel the fear of the unknown into some grit and dig deep for that sweat. Reach out to me and this community. We’ll help you every step of the way. Goals come and go but we can always fuel the fire we need to live a healthy lifestyle. Let’s do this!
Angie Boyko ~ Fort Saskatchewan, AB
First of all I’d like to start off by saying, I am incredibly honored to once again be given the opportunity to fill the role of an ambassador for the Spring 2022 Journey.
My name is Angie Boyko, I live in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta with my other 1/2 and our two incredible kids. I grew up in Edmonton and was never a girl who loved sports. I liked individual challenges like track and field but I hated team sports with a passion. Reflecting back on that statement has made me realize that I truly do love to “run my own race” which is exactly what I have found in HRM, not surprising as it’s one of their philosophies. This group of ladies is incredible, encouraging and everyone is working at different levels of experience but what we all have in common is we are all working towards goals together. This incredible community that I stumbled upon has made me grateful for all it has given me. When I say “I stumbled” I truly mean was encouraged by a couple friends who knew I could before I knew it myself. Who helped me push out of my comfort zones and helped me see “I” was worth it. So believe me when I say it is mind blowing that I have grown to the point I feel I belong in the role of being a role model to this community. It truly is life changing
Spring 2022 will be my 4th journey with HRM and my 2nd as an ambassador. I have never felt more at home with a group of ladies than I have here. Originally when I joined I doubted my ability but within the 1st few weeks of my journey I started to find the “Me” who knew she could and who really wanted to do this. As the days past my heart smiled more and more each day, my confidence grew and my self worth skyrocketed. I’ve met so many incredible women who I haven’t met in person but have become friends for life with and are a constant source of support when needed! The “you got this”, “I know you can” and “I'm right here with you” are sometimes exactly what you need to get through and smile. Through HRM I have found a ME I love and I’m so able to maintain that with a healthy work/life/home/me balance. It is so achievable once you get there, you just have to start by trying.
My days are filled with helping other people's bodies feel better so it was about time for me to step up and help my body. I’ve been a registered Massage Therapist for the past 21+ years and I love what I do. So much so I can’t even imagine doing anything else. So my days are filled with figuring out how the body works, my evenings/weekends are spent taking care of my family and me. I am super blessed to be part of this amazing community and I know you will be too.
Can’t wait to see you all on the page, cheer you on and watch you all grow alongside me. It’s going to be Heart smiling for all of us

Hello Gorgeous Sisters!
So happy you’ve decided to make your health and wellness a priority this Spring. Spring 2022 will mark my sixth journey with Healthy Role Models and FIRST as an ambassador. I am extremely excited and honoured to be a part of this group.
Let’s see...I am an only child, a wife to a very supportive husband and a mom to two wonderful kids (ages 11 and 8). I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba where my parents migrated to when I was six years old from the Philippines. Both my husband and I have large extended families so parties and get-togethers (when allowed) are always so fun. I work full-time as a structural engineer for a local consulting firm and absolutely love what I do! During my free time I like to practice calligraphy, play golf, spend time with family and friends and do spin classes. As a family, we try to enjoy the outdoors as much as we can and also love trying new things!
My HRM journey started in Fall 2019. I connected with a friend (after spin class of course!) who always had good things to say about the program and I was also looking to lose weight. So I decided to try it out! Little did I know that not only would I care less about losing weight but that I would actually learn more lessons in life that I ever imagined. I learned that there really are women out there who are like- minded and will truly support you and cheer you on or be there for you even when you didn’t know you needed it. I learned that it was never about lifting the heaviest or crushing every single workout but it was about staying consistent no matter your pace. I learned to use pride as my metric and strive to be 1% better today than I was yesterday. I do think these are some of the reasons why ladies continue to keep coming back. It’s a great place to be and so glad you are here!
So take it all in; immerse yourself in this uplifting community that can give you so much love if you let it. Enjoy all the workouts, zoom events, in person meet-ups and have so much fun. This is your journey and we are all here for it every step of your way. I cannot wait to cheer you on this Fall.
You’ve got this!
Shai-Lynn Lee ~ Nanaimo, BC
Hello and welcome to the 2022 Spring journey ! Whether this is your first journey or you are a returning HRM you are in the right place and have made the best decision and you will not regret it!!
My name is Shai-Lynn Lee and I am so honoured and excited to be chosen as one of the ambassadors for this journey! The 2022 Spring journey will be my 3rd journey and my first as an ambassador! I was born and raised on Vancouver island and currently reside in Nanaimo, BC. I am a 34 year old mother to an almost 5 year old daughter who is a strong independent woman with a lot of personality who you will see rippling with me in my swelfies. I also have another little one on the way and am due in August. My other half and I have been together for 12 years and am so blessed to have the love and support from him. I am so grateful for my stepmom another fellow HRM who gave me that extra push to give HRM a chance and I m ever so happy I did , I don’t know why I waited so long!!
HRM could not have come at a better time in my life. I wasn’t taking care of me and wasn’t making myself a priority. I have had a lot of loss over the last year and without this community and program I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have felt safe amongst this community and have never felt judged. I have been so lucky to make some amazing connections and cannot wait to make more!
I am so excited to be there to cheer all of you fabulous human beings on and be there to support you in any way! I will Be watching for you and your swelfies. Take this journey to learn about you, learn and recognize your why, run your own race and most importantly smile and have fun!!
Remember that you are beautiful, your are important, you are strong and you can do anything!! Trust the process, give yourself grace and remember to rest and recover!
I look so forward to being alongside you all
On this journey! We are stronger together !
Tanya Reiber ~ Ladysmith, BC
Hello beautifuls, welcome to the HRM Spring 2022 Journey. I feel very excited and grateful to have been selected by the HRM team to be one of the ambassadors. I look forward to being alongside you all for this amazing Journey.
A little bit about myself. My name is Tanya, and this is my 4th Journey and first time as an ambassador. I reside in Ladysmith, BC where the hiking trails and best cinnamon buns are plentiful. I am 46, married to my high school sweetheart Brian, we have two amazing sons (Mike, 23, and Ty, 21) and a super sweet daughter in law (Grace, 23), and a 9yr old springer spaniel named Boomer. You will see Boomer in many photos. My family is my everything. I am an avid day and overnight hiker. My hardest overnight hike thus far was the Auger point Traverse (42kms and over 3000mtr elevation gain) and the South Kaibab to Phantom Ranch and up the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon. We also love road trips and love finding unique places to stay (some of the more unique accommodations have been a converted sheep wagon, converted rail car, and teepee). I have worked at Vancouver Island University for 23 years with 17 years as a Coordinator, Enrolment Services and Operations. The Fall 2021 Journey saw me pushing my boundaries, leveling up with wanting more which resulted in my stepping into the arena 100% outside my comfort zone and applying for and being the successful candidate for a temporary part time instructor position. What I have learned in a short two months is that the best way to grow is to learn and the best way to learn is to teach!
I was a lover of the traditional gym, but during the pandemic when gyms were forced to close doors or limited space, I jumped over the fence, and I joined HRM. I am so grateful for this community. When you hear the words, this community is more than the workouts and nutrition, believe it. The cheerleading, love, support, guidance, and connections to life-long friends is the secret sauce in this community and like no other.
Each of my journeys have looked different for me and that is 100% ok and normal. The first one I worked very hard to love my body for what it was capable of, instead of what it didn’t look like, and it was that journey that had me returning for more. It is important to lean in when things get tough, ask the questions, do the work, bring your 100% for each day, SHOW up for YOU and most of all bring the JOY.
You may have noticed; I write the word JOurneY with capitalizing the letters that spell JOY and the reason for that is a reminder to bring joy to your everyday life and especially on this Journey of Yours!
I will see YOU on the page!
Fallon Campbell ~ Grosse Isle, MB
I am a joy seeking, energy creating, wellness loving woman from a small town in Manitoba, and I am so excited to by with Healthy Role Models for my eighth journey- this time as an ambassador. I am a wife (to a kick-butt husband). A mom (3 kiddos and one fur baby). A twin. A high school teacher. I love sushi and popcorn (not at the same time), spinning and running, musicals, singing and dancing, podcasts, and summers at the lake.
My story with HRM started 3 and a half years ago after the birth of my third child. Fitness has always been important to me, as has mental wellness. However, I was at a time in my life where I could not muster up a positive thought about myself. I was a sleep deprived, mom of three, renovating my dream home, and I lost my joy. One day, I saw a friend post about a “fitness” group called HRM. I signed up in desperation, seeing her results and joy, and the rest is history! Little did I know that “fitness” was the tip of the iceberg in HRM.
I have learned through this positive community, that I AM WORTH IT. I have discovered a self-esteem that had been lost for so long, and I have so much joy. Am I strong as heck now? yepppers… but my gains are way past strong.
My advice for you is that comparison will rob you of joy. You may find yourself feeling ‘less than’ from time to time. Remember that this is YOUR journey. Are you proud of yourself? Use that feeling of pride to feed your joy.
Deep breath. Let’s dive in! I can’t wait to watch you grow your joy!
