Natalie Ward ~ Nanaimo, BC
Welcome to your Autumn 2019 Healthy Role Models Journey! I'm extremely humbled and honored to be here as one of your Ambassadors as you embark on your journey into becoming the best version of yourself. This will be my 10th journey! My name is Natalie Ward (Krystle on Facebook and on the page).
I am 37 years old, a wife to Nigel, a mom to Keeley (3.5yrs) and Kendall (6 months). Currently I am on maternity leave until next March. I am a grade 2/3 teacher with special education background. While growing up, I was always a very active person engaged in a number of sports. Because of this it lead me to obtain a health and sport degree at Vancouver Island University, which then lead to me eventually becoming a teacher.
The moment Healthy Role Models welcomed me into their community; my life took a drastic change for the better. I had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl late 2015, however the pregnancy took a toll on my body. I gained over 60 lbs; I didn’t even recognize myself in the mirror anymore. I was at my lowest point physically and emotionally. In all aspects, my confidence level wasn’t anywhere close to where I needed it to be. In the beginning it was both physically and mentally demanding. The thing is, I never felt alone. I had all the women in the HRM community pushing me through it both directly and indirectly. I was so inspired by everyone’s stories that it pushed me far beyond my limits and comfort level. I was waking up early to join others for HIIT training on the stairs. I was eating better, sleeping better and I even noticed myself smiling a lot more.
As I embark on my 10th journey at 6 months postpartum I can only hope to offer my guidance and experiences to not only the mothers with young children, but everyone seeking the HRM lifestyle.
What I love about HRM is that it isn’t a quick fix; it’s a lifestyle change. I can truly say that I am stronger than I’ve ever been in my life. I am happier, beaming with confidence. I am a better wife, mother, teacher and friend. The biggest things I’ve learned on my journeys are to be kind and gentle to yourself, let others help you and stay connected on the page. We are a community of women supporting women of all ages, shapes and size; that alone is an amazing thing to be a part of!
The beauty of the HRM community is that we are all here because we all want to become the best version of ourselves. HRM is full of strength, support, love and encouragement which are all key factors assisting you on your 12-week journey towards your vision and goals. I am so looking forward to connecting with you as you navigate through your journey. I am here to lead by example, motivate, guide you through those butterflies that you’re about to embrace but most importantly, to be able to help you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF ~ YOU ARE SO WORTH IT!!! It’s an incredible journey to be on and I am so excited you took the chance to embrace the HRM family!
