Jacquelyn Roberts ~ Port Alberni, BC
Hello, and welcome to your 2019 Autumn journey! I’m so honoured to be back as one of your ambassadors, and looking forward to watching you all soar!
A little about me:
This is my 6th journey as an HRM, and my second time as an ambassador. I’m 34 years old and married to my wonderful husband (and high school sweetheart) of 11 years. Together we have three children (ages 5, 3 and 1) and a large goldendoodle who is full of energy! Our house is a busy and chaotic one, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My favourite activities/hobbies include; hiking, swimming, running and curling. I spend a lot of my free time in the woods with my family, nature is so therapeutic to me. It’s amazing what trees, water and mountains can do for the soul.
I graduated in 2013 with my BA degree in Physical Education. While I have always enjoyed sports as a teenager and young adult, I was never super fit. I found out I was pregnant with my first child days before my graduation ceremony. I never ended up putting my education to use within the workforce, as my life seemed to take a different path. I’m now a full time stay at home Mom. While I’m so grateful for my precious children and the opportunity to stay home with them, it also comes with huge challenges. There have been many times where I haven’t always taken care of myself. I know now just how important this is. If you don’t take care of YOU, you can’t give the best of yourself to others.
My first journey was Autumn 2016. Over the years and in between having multiple babies I have seen great results and achieved many goals! I’m so grateful for this community of women. I have met some amazing people through HRM, and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without these loving and supportive women! Joining this community has been one of the best things I have done for my physical and mental health.
My advice to new HRMs? Trust the process, do not compare yourself to other women (everyone is in a different stage of their life, and things are going to look different), try new
things, set goals that are realistic yet that will challenge you, go to events when you’re able to,
do things that are fun and sustainable for life! This is a lifestyle!
My absolute favourite quote:
“Change is hard at the beginning, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end”.
